The Destination Thailand Visa (DTV) is a 5-year visa that allows multiple entries for a maximum of 180 days at a time. It is designed for individuals who wish to work remotely or participate in approved activities while staying in Thailand.

The Thailand DTV visa is primarily intended for:

  • Remote workers, Digital nomads, and Freelancers (“workcation”)

  • Participants in approved Thai soft power activities, such as Muay Thai training, Thai cooking courses, medical programs, seminars, and cultural events.

  • Spouses and dependents of DTV visa holders.

Basic Requirements for all Applicants

  • Passport-sized photograph.

  • Proof of residence.

  • Proof of financial stability with a minimum of THB 500,000 (approx. USD 15,000) held for at least 3 months.

  • Proof of payment of the visa fee of approximately THB 10,000 (approx. USD 300).

Additional Requirements by Category

1. Workcation / Digital Nomad

  • Employment contract and employer confirmation of remote working (for remote work).

  • Business registration, tax documents, and a cover letter outlining the business's activities, revenue model, and remote operations (for business owners).

  • Portfolio, invoices, or proof of ongoing work (for freelancers).

2. Thai Soft Power Activities

  • Official confirmation letter from the host organization.

  • Proof of the institution's legal registration.

  • Evidence of program duration (typically at least 6 months).

3. Spouse / Dependents

  • Proof of relationship (e.g., marriage certificate, birth certificate).

Obligations under the DTV Visa Thailand

  • The maximum stay is 180 days per entry.

  • As extension procedures remain unclear, applicants must exit and re-enter Thailand after 180 days.
