RETIREMENT VISA THAILAND

RETIREMENT VISA THAILAND (NON-OA and NON-OX)

The Thailand Retirement Visa allows foreign nationals aged 50 years or older to live in Thailand long-term without working. These visas are commonly used by individuals who wish to retire in Thailand and maintain a stable legal residence in the country.

The most common options are the Non-OA Visa Thailand (1-year retirement visa) and the Non-OX Visa (10-year long-stay retirement visa). Both types of visas allow retirees to remain in Thailand while meeting specific financial and immigration requirements.

The "O-A" Retirement Visa

This visa is initially issued to applicants aged 50 years and over who wish to retire in Thailand for up to one year. Holders of this visa are not permitted to work.

Holders of this visa may stay in the country for one year and can apply for a Thai retirement visa renewal each year if the requirements continue to be met.

Key benefits include:

The "O-X" Retirement Visa

This visa is a long-term visa for eligible foreign retirees aged 50 or over. It allows holders to stay in Thailand for up to 10 years (five plus five years).

It enables retirees to reside in Thailand long-term with multiple entries, offering greater stability for those planning an extended retirement there.

Key benefits include:

  • Stay in Thailand for up to 10 years.

  • Multiple entry privileges.

  • No annual visa renewal is required within the initial 5-year validity period.
